The soup kitchen could not serve the needs of the hungry in Adams County without its volunteers. Women and men working through their churches and community organizations provide most of the food as well as the hands to serve it each day. Hundreds of different people, including college students and members of youth groups, are involved every year. Many prepare food for our guests. Others help by coming to serve the meal, arriving half an hour before the guests do and staying half an hour after they leave in order to finish the dishes.
If you would like to join your neighbors in continuing to meet this need, consider volunteering through your church. A list of contributing churches can be found under the Annual Report. Contributing churches typically have a coordinator for soup kitchen volunteers from their congregation, and a call to your church office is the first step toward contacting that person and getting involved.
